sSpring is here! I am so excited for long days, warm weather, flowers, green trees and grass, and playing outside! My favorite time of year!
Please sign and return report card envelopes. We will use these again for the end of year assessments.
We spend about 20-30 minutes outside for recess when the weather permits. If you feel your child needs sunscreen for this time, please apply it in the morning. I am not able to apply sunscreen in school. Both because we have 10 children, and because of COVID regulations.
If the coming weeks, you will recieve a survey from Deb Jenkins, President of the School Board. This survey will help them with the selection process for our new principal. Please fill this out shortly after receiving it so that our school board can go over the data before starting the interview process.
These next few weeks we will be talking about the death and resurrection of our Lord. This is a difficult topic to discuss with our youngest learners, but it is such an important part of our faith formation. We will be discussing this beautiful story at an age-appropriate level, but your little ones may come home with questions. My advice is to keep it simple and honest, and focus on the joy of the resurrection and how much Jesus loves us. Please let me know if you have any questions on how we teach this topic.
We are still collecting New pajamas for the Our School Cares Campaign. If you would like to donate, please send in new pajamas for children who have extended stays in area hospitals. We all know how good a fresh pair of jammies can feel. We are also collecting spare change for our rice bowl project which we are doing as a school community this year. Thank you to all who have contributed.
Thank you all so much for all your donations to the class, especially the dissinfectant spray. Our current need is paper towels. If each family could send in 1 roll, that should do it for the remainder of the school year.
Upcoming dates:
April 1 Purple day. Pre-k 3 students may wear purple with their school pants.
April 1 is a half day for all students. No afternoon enrichment. This means our parking lot will be busy. I encourage families of morning kids to arrive at 11:35-11:45 so that I can dismiss those children and those families can leave the parking lot. Then if the afternoon families and those with siblings/carpools in the big school come at 11:45-12:00, there will be more spaces available.
April 6, 7, and 8 are spring break!
We return April 13.
Scholastic Book Club ordering is opening! Shopping is available here: editions.mydigitalpublication.com/publication/?i=670613
Every order helps me earn fresh and new stories for our classroom! This is an enormous help! Our class code is W8WKW. Thank you to all who have ordered in the past!
